WARM HOME PRESCRIPTION – ARE YOU ELLIGIBLE?

What is Warm Home Prescription?

Run by Energy Systems Catapult, this service is designed to help people who are most at risk from cold homes and high energy bills. It offers tailored support to help you stay warm and well at home. So far, over 1,000 households have already benefited. This winter even more will be supported.

What support is available?

·         Financial help with heating bills (up to £245 over the winter period)

·         Expert, personalised energy advice

·         Potential home improvements to keep your home warmer and lower your energy costs in the long term

Who delivers the service in your area?

To deliver Warm Home Prescription in your area, Energy Systems Catapult have partnered with SELCE — A charity helping households across Southeast London. SELCE provides free, impartial energy advice and practical support to help people stay warm, save money, and reduce their carbon footprint.

What happens if you're interested?

·         Email energy.advice@selce.org.uk with:

o   An expression of interest in WHP

o   Your name and phone number

o   The site that referred you

·         An energy advisor will contact you and process the referral.

·         Their support may include:

o   Advice and guidance

o   Help with energy bills

o   Home improvements

o   Other services depending on your needs

Eligibility Criteria – only need to be eligible in 1

·         Health Conditions: Individuals diagnosed with conditions that are worsened by cold environments, such as:

o   Cardiovascular Disease (CVD)

o   Respiratory Conditions: COPD, Asthmas, chronic bronchitis, emphysema

o   Immunosuppressed Conditions: Illnesses that affect the immune system.

o   Mobility Issues: Physical disabilities that limit movement

o   Mental Health Conditions: Conditions made worse by cold homes

·         Individuals aged 65 or older

·         Pregnancy and Young Children: Pregnant Individuals and those with Children aged 0-5 years

·         Income: Individuals with an income below £31,000 per year
